Description

This classic meatloaf is a heartwarming dish loaded with flavor, perfect for family gatherings and comforting weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (divided)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté diced onions in a pan over medium heat until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic powder.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, sautéed onions and garlic, Worcestershire sauce, half of the ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  5. Spread the remaining ketchup over the top of the meatloaf for glazing.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider incorporating chopped bell peppers or mushrooms into the mixture.
  •  You can substitute breadcrumbs with rolled oats for a healthier twist.
