- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz canned whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Fresh basil and oregano to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Pour in canned tomatoes and crush them as they cook down into a sauce.
- Once meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain well.
- Serve spaghetti topped with meatballs and sauce.
