Description
Crispy Smash Burgers are a flavor-packed delight featuring juicy beef and crispy edges, perfect for any gathering or weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 4 brioche buns
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup fresh lettuce, shredded
- ½ cup sliced dill pickles
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- Gather tools: skillet or griddle, spatula, mixing bowl, and measuring spoons.
- Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat until hot (but not smoking).
- In a mixing bowl, gently shape the ground beef into four loose balls (about 4 ounces each).
- Place each ball onto the hot skillet and smash down firmly with the spatula. Sear for about 3 minutes without moving.
- When juices begin to bubble on top, place cheese slices on patties and toast the brioche buns in another pan until golden brown.
- Remove patties from heat once cheese melts. Assemble by placing patties on toasted buns, adding lettuce, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add spices such as garlic powder or onion powder to the beef before cooking.
- Try swapping traditional toppings with avocado or jalapeños for a unique twist.
