- 2 black tea bags (Assam or Darjeeling)
- 2 whole cardamom pods
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cups whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
- Add the black tea bags, cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, and grated ginger. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Stir in the sugar until dissolved. Then add the milk and heat until steaming (about 5 minutes), without boiling.
- Strain the mixture into cups using a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove solids.
- Optionally, drizzle honey or sprinkle extra spices on top before serving.
