Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and sea salt until just combined; the dough should remain crumbly.
  4. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish as the base layer.
  5. Pour warm caramel sauce over the base layer, spreading it evenly.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough on top of the caramel layer.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown around the edges. Cool completely before slicing.
