Description
Garlic knots are warm, fluffy bites of bread infused with garlic and herbs, perfect for snacking or as a side dish to elevate any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Gradually stir in flour and salt until a shaggy dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Once risen, punch down the dough gently and divide into equal pieces. Roll each piece into ropes about 6 inches long and tie them into knots.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, melt butter with minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over hot knots after baking.
Notes
- Feel free to add herbs like oregano for extra flavor.
- For a cheesy twist, sprinkle grated cheese on top before baking.
