Description

Garlic knots are warm, fluffy bites of bread infused with garlic and herbs, perfect for snacking or as a side dish to elevate any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Gradually stir in flour and salt until a shaggy dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Once risen, punch down the dough gently and divide into equal pieces. Roll each piece into ropes about 6 inches long and tie them into knots.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While baking, melt butter with minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over hot knots after baking.
