Description

Indulge in these delightful French Toast Roll Ups, filled with sweet cream cheese and dusted with cinnamon sugar—an irresistible breakfast treat that’s fun to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices thick bread (Texas toast or challah)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • fresh fruit or syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workstation by gathering all ingredients and tools (mixing bowl, whisk, frying pan).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Trim the crusts off each bread slice if desired. Spread a layer of cream cheese on each slice and roll them up tightly.
  4. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated but not soaked.
  5. Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the roll ups seam-side down and cook until golden brown on all sides (about 2-3 minutes each).
  6. While hot, coat each roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar for added sweetness.
  7. Serve warm with syrup or fresh fruit as desired.

Notes

  • Stale bread works best for easier rolling.
  •  Feel free to substitute cream cheese with nut butter or fruit preserves for different flavors.
