Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful dish that combines tender beef and fresh broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
  • ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth (or water)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain and chop the broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper. Marinate beef in this mixture for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef in batches and cook until browned (about 3-4 minutes). Remove from pan.
  4. In the same pan, add broccoli with a splash of water and steam for about 3 minutes until bright green.
  5. Return the beef to the pan along with any marinade. Toss everything together until heated through.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute broccoli with snow peas or bell peppers for variety.
  •  For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
