Ingredients

  • 1 fresh baguette
  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick pieces and place on a baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Bake baguette slices for about 10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Season the sirloin steak with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the remaining olive oil and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  4. Let the cooked steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  5. While the bread is still warm, spread minced garlic on toasted baguette slices. Top with sliced steak and sprinkle with fresh herbs. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
