Description

Garlic knots are delightful, buttery bites that bring the irresistible flavors of garlic and herbs to your table. Perfect for gatherings or as a snack, they will charm every palate.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (100°F to 110°F)
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until combined to form a shaggy dough.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, divide it into small pieces, roll into ropes, and tie into knots.
  7. Place knots on a greased baking sheet, brush with melted butter mixed with garlic and oregano. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan or red pepper flakes before baking.
  •  Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days; reheat at 350°F for five minutes.
