Description

These easy-to-make black bean burgers are bursting with flavor and perfect for any occasion. Whip them up for a delicious meal that will please everyone!


Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 large egg (or flax egg for vegan option)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain the black beans. Mash gently with a fork until chunky.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. In a bowl, combine mashed beans, sautéed onion-garlic mix, breadcrumbs, cilantro, spices, and egg/flax egg. Mix until just combined.
  4. Form the mixture into equal patties about 1 inch thick.
  5. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add diced jalapeños or corn to the mixture.
  •  Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
