These easy-to-make black bean burgers are bursting with flavor and perfect for any occasion. Whip them up for a delicious meal that will please everyone!

- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 large egg (or flax egg for vegan option)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Rinse and drain the black beans. Mash gently with a fork until chunky.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- In a bowl, combine mashed beans, sautéed onion-garlic mix, breadcrumbs, cilantro, spices, and egg/flax egg. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into equal patties about 1 inch thick.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add diced jalapeños or corn to the mixture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
