Description
Cinnamon rolls with heavy cream are a heavenly delight, featuring soft, fluffy dough infused with rich flavors. Perfect for breakfast or dessert, these rolls will make every occasion special.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Warm the milk until lukewarm. Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the frothy mixture along with melted butter and eggs; mix until slightly sticky but manageable.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick). Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar filling.
- Roll tightly from one edge, slice into equal pieces (12), and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Drizzle heavy cream over the unbaked rolls and bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- While warm, mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and enough milk to create a glaze; drizzle over rolls before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider substituting cinnamon with nutmeg or adding nuts and raisins.
- These rolls can be prepared ahead of time; refrigerate overnight and bake fresh in the morning.
