Description

Crockpot Pierogi Casserole is a comforting dish featuring layers of cheesy pierogies, savory turkey sausage, and aromatic onions, all slow-cooked to perfection for an effortless family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogies (16 oz)
  • 1 lb fully cooked turkey sausage, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and slice the turkey sausage.
  2. Layer frozen pierogies at the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Evenly distribute chopped onions and sliced turkey sausage over the pierogies.
  4. Pour chicken broth over the ingredients until just covered.
  5. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle cheese on top and cover until melted.

Notes

  • Swap turkey sausage for chicken or add sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor.
