Description

Crispy tofu is a delightful dish that combines a crunchy exterior with a tender center, making it the perfect addition to any meal. This easy recipe will quickly become a favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by draining it and wrapping it in paper towels; press gently for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes or rectangles for even cooking.
  3. Toss the cubed tofu in cornstarch until fully coated.
  4. Sprinkle soy sauce, garlic powder, and paprika over the coated tofu; toss gently to combine.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add coated tofu in batches, frying for 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Notes

  •  For added flavor, consider marinating the tofu before coating or serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
  • To achieve a healthier version, bake at 400°F for 25-30 minutes instead of frying.
