Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 4 slices cheese (cheddar or American)
- 4 burger buns (brioche)
- Toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, onions, ketchup, mustard
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (about 4 ounces each) and gently shape into loose balls.
- Place each ball on the hot skillet and press down with a spatula until about half an inch thick.
- Season each patty immediately with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Cook for about 3 minutes until edges are brown and crispy. Add a slice of cheese on each patty and cover briefly until melted.
- Lightly toast the burger buns if desired. Assemble burgers by stacking the cheesy patties on the bottom bun and adding toppings of choice before capping with the top bun.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider incorporating toppings like avocado or jalapeños.
- To maintain crispiness when reheating leftovers, use a skillet instead of a microwave.
