Description

Crispy Smash Burgers are a deliciously satisfying meal that combines a crunchy exterior with a juicy interior. Perfect for gatherings or family dinners!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese)
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil (canola or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your griddle or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Gently form the ground beef into four 4 oz balls without overworking the meat.
  3. Season each ball generously with salt and pepper just before cooking.
  4. Smash each ball onto the hot surface with a sturdy spatula until about half an inch thick.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, flipping once juices bubble on top.
  6. Add cheese if desired after flipping and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until melted.
  7. Assemble burgers on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
