Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz imitation crab meat, chopped
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 20 wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, imitation crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix until well blended.
- Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place approximately one tablespoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of each wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form triangles or bring the corners together to create pouches. Pinch tightly to seal.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wontons in batches for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer fried wontons to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
- If you prefer a healthier option, you can bake the Crab Rangoon at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes until golden.
