Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz imitation crab meat, chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, imitation crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix until well blended.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place approximately one tablespoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of each wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form triangles or bring the corners together to create pouches. Pinch tightly to seal.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the wontons in batches for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer fried wontons to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
