Description

Churros are a delightful treat combining crispy exteriors with soft, fluffy interiors, perfectly dusted in cinnamon sugar. These homemade churros are ideal for dipping and sharing!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt over medium heat until melted. Stir in flour until fully combined.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until the dough is smooth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  5. Fry churros for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and roll in a cinnamon-sugar mixture while warm.

Notes

  • For an extra twist, try filling your churros with dulce de leche or chocolate cream.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature and reheat briefly to regain crispness.
