Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the peanut butter until fully incorporated, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Use a cookie scoop to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are still soft. Let cool on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- For added texture, consider mixing in chopped nuts or dried fruits alongside chocolate chips.
- Adjust sweetness by using different types of sugars; try coconut sugar for a caramel-like flavor.
