Description
Chicken Philly Cheesesteak is a delightful twist on the classic sandwich, featuring tender chicken, sautéed vegetables, and gooey cheese—all packed into a sub roll for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into thin strips)
- 1 large onion (sliced)
- 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 sub rolls or hoagie buns
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by slicing the chicken and chopping the vegetables.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers; sauté until soft (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add chicken strips and minced garlic to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (about 7-10 minutes).
- Reduce heat, layer provolone cheese on top of the chicken mixture, and cover until melted (2-3 minutes).
- Slice sub rolls open without cutting all the way through. Fill each roll with the cheesy chicken mixture.
- Serve hot with fries or a salad.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in your favorite spices overnight.
- You can swap out different cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar for variety.
- Feel free to add other veggies such as mushrooms or spinach to customize your cheesesteak.
