Description

Savor the comforting flavors of this easy chicken and gravy dish, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil (vegetable or olive)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Coat each chicken piece in flour, then add to the skillet. Sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove the chicken and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onions and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in dried thyme, then gradually pour in the chicken broth while scraping up any browned bits from the pan; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the browned chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer for an additional 20 minutes until cooked through.

Notes

  •  For added flavor, consider incorporating spices such as paprika or adding vegetables like carrots during cooking.
  •  If you prefer a thicker gravy, whisk together a mixture of flour and water before adding it to the sauce.
