Description

Boston Cream Pie Poke Cake is a moist, indulgent dessert that features layers of creamy vanilla pudding and rich chocolate ganache. A crowd-pleaser for any occasion!


Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and milk; mix until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. Once cooled, poke holes in the cake about an inch apart using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  5. Whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk in another bowl until thickened; spread over the holes in the cake.
  6. For ganache, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until steaming; stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Pour over the pudding layer.
  7. Whip remaining heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form; spread over the ganache.
