Description

Indulge in this cheesy Baked Ziti, a delightful dish perfect for family gatherings and weeknight dinners that everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the ziti pasta until al dente (8-10 minutes), then drain and reserve some pasta water.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked pasta with marinara sauce, ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Layer half of the pasta mixture in the baking dish; add half of the remaining mozzarella on top. Pour in the rest of the pasta mixture and finish with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute cheeses or add vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms for added flavor.
  • Baked Ziti can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated overnight.
