Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp raw honey
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Marinate the salmon: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Coat each salmon fillet generously and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- 2. Preheat your oven or grill to medium-high heat.
- 3. Sear the salmon: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Place the salmon skin-side down and sear for 4–5 minutes until crispy. Flip carefully.
- 4. Baste the salmon: Spoon leftover marinade over the fillets while cooking for another 3–4 minutes until cooked through.
- 5. Finishing touch: If using an oven, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes until caramelized.
- 6. Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving alongside rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- For a sweeter glaze, substitute honey with maple syrup.
- Add colorful veggies like bok choy for a vibrant side dish.
